Hyderabad: A 30-year-old US national living in Hyderabad has complained to the police she was raped at knife point in the affluent Banjara Hills locality early Wednesday.
The woman, who works for US-based non-profit organisation and lives in Banjara Hills, has filed a complaint with the local police station that an unknown man barged into her rented flat and assaulted her at knife point.
She has been admitted to a corporate hospital where medical tests will be conducted. "She has been a tenant at the flat from October 2009 and works as a nutritionist with the NGO," said Stephen Ravindra, DCP Hyderabad West Zone. Ravindra said the “assault” took place between 3 am to 4 am.
Two police teams are searching for a suspect on the basis of description given by the woman. City Police Commissioner A K Khan visited the woman's house this morning.
