AI plans building at Malavoor panchayat

MANGALORE: Air India has plans to construct a building in Malavoor gram panchayat in memory of the victims who died in Air India Express IX 812 crash, Air India Express Chief Operating Officer S Chandrakumar said on Sunday. He told reporters that Air India Express had held discussions with Malavoor panchayat officials on constructing a building dedicated to the victims. The 1,800 sqft building will either be a reading room, a community hall or a primary health centre, he said.Air India will contribute 90 per cent of the cost for the proposed building and the remaining will be shared by the panchayat. The panchayat will soon approach us with a proposal and the cost, the COO added.
