8 held for cheating lodge owner

PUDUCHERRY: Eight persons, hailing from different districts of Tamil Nadu, were arrested on Wednesday for trying to cheat a lodge owner by offering him the promise of an Iridium vessel. SP (North) S Ramaraj told reporters that  Muthu @Marimuthu (58), Rajmohan (34),  Kamalraj (34), Madhusudanan (26), Thiruchelvam (34), Ramesh Kumar (39), Vadivelu (34), Ramesh Kumar (38) approached Javier Rono, a lodge owner, here and offered him an iridium vessel for Rs 3 lakh.  Javier Rono gave them the money, but they failed to show up with the vessel. Following this Javier, who was keen on “rice pulling”, made a complaint to the police. The eight persons were arrested and two cars and some chemicals were seized from them.
