A 50-year-old lawyer was allegedly hacked to death by some unidentified persons in the city when he was going to a court in Sultanpur on Thursday, police said.
The incident took place when Dharmraj Yadav was going to the court on his bike and some persons forcibly stopped him in Amhat locality following which they attacked him with sharp edged weapons, killing him on the spot, Superintendent of Police, Saumitra Yadav said.
Police is suspecting it to be a case of old enmity.
The probe is on in the matter, he said, adding no arrests have been made so far.
