COIMBATORE: A four-year-old girl, who was tested positive for swine flu, is undergoing treatment at the Coimbatore Medical College Hospital (CMCH).V Adhista, hailing from S S Kulam on the outskirts here and an LKG student of Vimal Jyothi Convent developed acute fever and severe cold on March 24.She was taken to a private hospital for treatment. As the fever did not subside, a swab test was taken which confirmed that she was affected by H1N1 virus. She was rushed to CMCH around 9 am on Wednesday.S Senthil Kumar, Deputy Director of Health, said this was the first case in the district in the last two months. Resident Medical Officer of CMCH, Sivaprakasam said that Adhista’s condition was stable.As a precautionary measure, Tamiflu tablets were given to Adista’s family members. Health officials have planned to visit the school to check for any outbreak of swine flu.
