Two Indian students were found dead at their residence in the US state of Connecticut, media reports said. The two roommates found dead in the city of Hartford were identified as Gattu Dinesh from Wanaparthy, Telangana, and Nikesh from Srikakulam, Andhra Pradesh.
The students, both in their 20s, were found unresponsive by local friends visiting their residence. They were pursuing master’s degrees in computer science at the University of Sacred Heart. The suspected cause of death is a gas leak, although there is no official confirmation yet.
After they were found lifeless, both students were swiftly transported to the hospital, where medical authorities declared them dead. “The cause is still unknown,” Dinesh’s uncle Sainath told TOI. The families of Dinesh and Nikesh are now awaiting further investigations to determine the exact circumstances of their deaths.
Dinesh’s father, Venkanna, is a realtor, while details about Nikesh’s family remain unclear, according to the newspaper. Dinesh, having obtained a B.Tech degree in computer science from a private university in Chennai last year, secured admission to Connecticut’s Sacred Heart University.
Media reports said that help has been sought from Union Tourism Minister G Kishan Reddy and Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy to repatriate students’ bodies.
