Salaar To Kalki 2898 AD, Most Awaited Movies Of Prabhas After Adipurush Debacle
Salaar Part 1: Ceasefire, directed by Prashanth Neel, will be released on December 22.

Prabhas is facing an all-time low in his career at present, having delivered three duds in a row after the highly successful Baahubali films. After having become a pan-Indian star with Baahubali: The Beginning and Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, he followed it up with the much-anticipated action thriller Saaho. Expectations were high as the country was still immersed in the Baahubali mania but the film fell below expectations, both critically and commercially.

Prabhas then tried to foray into being a romantic hero from an action icon in Radhe Shyam but it was also a box office failure. His latest Adipurush met with overwhelmingly negative reviews with the audience panning it for distorting the epic Ramayana.

With his career trajectory spiralling downwards, Prabhas is now banking on a series of pan-India projects to redeem the success he found with Baahubali. Let us take a look at the upcoming films of Prabhas.

Salaar Part 1: Ceasefire

His most awaited project is perhaps the Prashanth Neel-directed Salaar, which will be released in two parts like Prashanth’s earlier work KGF. Expectations are high since Prashanth Neel is fresh off the success of KGF: Chapter 2 The makers announced that the action-packed film is releasing on December 22.

Kalki 2898 AD

This futuristic science fiction action thriller is helmed by Nag Ashwin. It will have an ensemble cast, including the likes of Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan and Deepika Padukone. The film is presently in the shooting stage.

Salaar 2

The release date of the second part of Salaar will be announced on the day the first instalment is released. The film has been shot completely as one and will be split into two.

Kannappa

This is a fantasy drama film directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh, based on the mythological story of one of Lord Shiva’s staunch devotees, Kannappa. Prabhas will appear in an extended cameo as Lord Shiva while Vishnu Manchu will play the lead role. The film is slated to release during the summer of next year.

Raja Deluxe

Prabhas and Maruthi are teaming up for Raja Deluxe, a horror comedy, a genre not attempted by Prabhas before. Filming for this project has not begun yet.

Spirit

Prabhas will play a hardened rough and tough cop in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Spirit. The project is still in the scripting stage and filming has not yet begun. The film will go on the floors early next year.
