On October 16, actor Prithviraj Sukumaran turned 41, and to mark the occasion, the creators of the highly anticipated film Salaar revealed his first-look poster. Fans flooded social media with birthday wishes, sharing the poster. Directed by Prashanth Neel of KGF fame, Salaar is scheduled to release in theaters on December 22. His career began in 2002 with Ranjith Balakrishnan’s romance drama Nandanam. Sukumaran got the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Malayalam in 2011 for his film Indian Rupee. He is married to Supriya Menon, with whom he has a daughter named Alankrita Menon Prithviraj. The actor was most recently seen in Shaji Kailas’s Kaduva (2022). Meanwhile, fans of Bollywood remember him as the beautiful hunk in Rani Mukherji’s Aiyyaa.
Hombale Films, the production house, took to X (formerly X) to share the actor’s poster. Wishing him, they wrote, “Wishing ‘Vardharaja Mannaar’ THE KING @PrithviOfficial, a majestic birthday (sic).”
Thank you! Cannot wait for the world to see this! ❤️ https://t.co/ox9YM6pYgY— Prithviraj Sukumaran (@PrithviOfficial) October 16, 2023
The poster features Prithviraj in a rugged appearance, dressed in black clothes with a shawl draped around his neck. Sporting a black tika on his forehead and a nose ring, he stood against a cloudy and dust-filled sky, accompanied by several people in the background.
Recently, the actor shared that he has fully recuperated from his knee injury and is ready to resume work with “100 per cent” energy. In an Instagram post, Sukumaran mentioned that it had been three months since he hurt his knee during an action sequence shoot for his upcoming Malayalam film, Vilayath Buddha.
After the injury, the actor mentioned undergoing a “fairly complex” surgery and expressed gratitude to the medical team. He said, “Complete and full recovery is still a while away and I will have to continue to stick to my physiotherapy and rehabilitation plan. But to get to where I am in 3 months took a lot of skill and dedication from this team. So THANK YOU for the commitment and truly inspiring passion towards your professions!”
