Chandramukhi 2 directed by P Vasu has finally been released in theatres worldwide today, September 28. The movie is the sequel of the Tamil blockbuster Chandramukhi which starred superstar Rajinikanth in the lead role. It was released in 2005. It was also remade in various languages. Now 18 years later, the Tamil movie industry has released the sequel of the movie which stars the actor and choreographer Raghava Lawrence and Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut in the lead roles.
The movie has been released in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam. It has done considerable pre-release business in Telugu states and worldwide. Chandramukhi 2 is said to be made on a budget of Rs 60 crore. It is produced by Lyca Productions. In Telugu states, the movie did a pre-release business of Rs 10 crore which is touted to be a good collection.
In Telangana, it did a business of Rs 3.50 crore while in the Rayalaseema region, the movie collected Rs 2.1 crore. Overall Telangana and Andhra Pradesh pre-release business totals up to Rs 10 crore. The movie will be released in Telugu states with a break-even target of Rs 11 crore.
The total pre-release business of the movie is reported between Rs 40-45 crore. Chandramukhi 2 has entered the theatres with a break-even target of Rs 45 target. It is believed that if the movie gains positive reviews, then it will cross its target within a few days after its release.
People have started giving good reviews to the movie after its first few shows. The performance of the lead actors is getting widespread attention from the audience and movie critics. Many have called this movie a blockbuster hit while others have called it an average movie. Kangana Ranaut has impressed the audience with her performance while Raghava Lawrence has as usual pleased his fans with his impeccable comic timing.
