The upcoming Kannada film Ghost is scheduled for theatrical release on October 19. Directed by Srini, the film will be released in multiple languages including Kannada, Telugu, Tamil, Hindi and Malayalam. Touted to be an action heist thriller, the film stars Shiva Rajkumar, Jayaram, Anupam Kher, Prashant Narayanan, Satya Prakash, and Archana Jois in pivotal roles.
The film is penned by Prasanna VM and Maasthi Upparahalli. With music composed by Arjun Janya, the cinematography of the film is handled by Mahen Simmha. Set within a prison, the film follows incidents occurring in 48 hours. In the film, the audience is going to witness real-life incidents that took place in Chennai a few years ago.
Director Srinivas revealed that the popular production house, Pen Studios has acquired the Hindi theatrical, satellite, and digital distribution rights for the film Ghost for a significant amount. He noted that Ghost marks Pen Studios’ first acquisition of a Kannada film under the leadership of Jayantilal Gada, known for distributing movies like RRR and Jawan in the past.
Srinivas said this collaboration will offer a wider reach audience for the film Ghost in the North Indian market. Ghost is slated to release on October 19, in the week of Dussehra. Several films like Leo, Bhagavanth Kesari, Tiger Nageshwara Rao, Ganpath, Sapta Sagaradaache Ello-Side B, and more are up for release on the same date. These films are expected to generate income from the Karnataka market.
The first song from Ghost, titled OGM (Original Gangster music), was released on September 22. So far, the video has garnered over 1.7 million views.
Fans have filled in the comment section with adulation and praise. One user wrote, “Mind-blowing OGM is like OMG this song will rule the world". Another added, “his movie’s background music is going to make history, it’s just mind-blowing".
Shiva Rajkumar has previously featured in films like Om, Vajrakaya, Shivalinga, and Nammoora Mandara Hoove. The actor was last seen in Jailer in an extended cameo. Now, the actor is all geared up to star in films including Captain Miller, Shivappa, Bharathi Ranagal, Satyamangala, Nee Siguvaregu, and Kabzaa 2 among several others.
