Ahmedabad: Riding on 108-runs opening partnership and a ton by Nilesh Modi, Gujarat made 235 for one in the first day of Ranji Trophy’s Super League match against Hyderabad the Sardar Patel stadium in Motera.
Elected to bat first, Gujarat openers Priyank Patel and Nilesh Modi gave the hosts a good start, before Panchal was caught by Ravi Teja off Ahmed Quadri in the 44th over.
Niraj Patel then joined Modi, who played a superb unbeaten innings of 118 runs, adorned with four boundaries.
At stumps, Niraj remained unbeaten on 60.
For Hyderabad, Quadri was the only successful bowler.
