Late Telugu Actor Uday Kiran's 2001 Film Nuvvu Nenu To Re-release After 23 Years

The 2001 film Nuvvu Nenu, helmed by Teja and featuring Uday Kiran and Anita Hassanandani, is gearing up for a remarkable re-release, marking 23 years since its initial triumph. This film, celebrated for its profound love narrative and unforgettable soundtrack by RP Patnaik, deeply resonated with audiences, propelling the careers of its main actors and crew into stardom back in 2001. The movie will be re-released in theatres on March 21.

When initially released, Nuvvu Nenu transcended the status of being a mere movie; it evolved into a cultural phenomenon, influencing trends in the Telugu film industry. Uday Kiran, who was just 21 when he appeared in the film, died by suicide at the mere age of 33 in January 2014. Financial difficulties were suspected to be the cause by the investigating Banjara Hills police, and a case of suspicious death was reported. Kiran had experienced depression for about a year as a result of the financial crisis.

Apart from Nuvvu Nenu which was his second film, his first and third films Chitram and Manasantha Nuvve respectively were big hits too, earning him the title ‘Hatrick Hero’.
