How to Play Symmetra
How to Play Symmetra
Symmetra is a character in Overwatch who can control the battlefield with a few skills. She technically has some turrets, but those aren't the main concentration of her abilities. This wikiHow will give you some tips on how to use Symmetra in Overwatch.
Steps

Know who Symmetra's strong and weak against. Symmetra is good in a battle against Bastion, D.Va, and Reinhardt, but is weak against Junkrat, Pharah, and Roadhog. You'll want to adjust your fighting strategy accordingly. For example, a battle with Junkrat most likely means that your turrets will immediately be destroyed.

Use your Teleporter effectively. Symmetra is best known for her Teleporter, as it can help minimize the time spent running to a specific location. You can't, however, Teleport back to the spawn room. Note that players will be facing the way Symmetra was facing when she created the portal. It is not helpful to have Symmetra facing a wall when she creates a portal because the other players will have no immediate idea of where they are going when they walk into a portal.

Use Photon Projector as your main DPS. Since your gun does not auto-target enemies, you'll need to focus on your target. As your beam hits the target, the beam intensity will increase from Level 1 to Level 3 each second. You'll see a power status indicator on your gun. Level 3 does four times the amount of damage as Level 1.

Use Photon Projector Orbs in close-quarters. Since the damage orbs are slow-moving, enemies can easily dodge them provided they have the room.

Place turrets where enemies won't look for them. Since Symmetra's turrets don't have great defensive capabilities, your enemies can destroy them in a single, or a few hits. For example, the upper corners near doorways are good places to set-up turrets. You also don't want all your turrets close together to be wiped out by an AOE. If you hide your turrets at chokepoints, you'll most likely rack up lots of kills. The turrets have put out great damage if grouped together. If you spread them out, you'll lose DPS.

Use Photon Barrier to break up fights. Aside from the obvious ability to neutralize damage, you can use Photon Barrier in the middle of a fight to give your team time to ignore the fight and regroup.
