Stock up on Poké balls. The catch rate for Yungoos is relatively high, so regular Poké balls should work well (however, be sure that you have a few extra Poké balls. in case your first attempt at catching Yungoos is unsuccessful). You can also use Nest Balls if you’d like, since the Yungoos you find will likely be a lower level.
Know where to find Yungoos. There are several locations where you can find Yungoos, and all of them are on the first island, Melemele Island. These include Routes 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 8 and Hau’oli City. You can also find Yungoos in Kala’e Bay during the day, or in Verdant Cavern (the site of Ilima’s Trial) in Pokémon Sun and Ultra Sun.
Put Yungoos in your party. If you have 6 Pokémon in your party when you catch it, you can choose to replace another Pokémon in your party with it. It will need to be in your party, however, in order for it to gain experience so you can evolve it.
Train up Yungoos to where it’s just below level 20, and enter a battle during the daytime. You’ll then want to successfully complete this battle by either defeating the Pokémon, or catching it if you’d like, and it’s a wild Pokémon. Keep in mind that Pokémon Moon and Ultra Moon are 12 hours ahead of your game clock.
Enjoy the evolution scene. You now have a Gumshoos to add to your team. Make sure that your Yungoos isn’t holding an Everstone, and that you are not pressing the B button during the evolution scene, otherwise the evolutionary sequence will be cancelled and your Yungoos will not evolve at that point, and you’ll have to level it up again during the daytime in order for the evolution to work.
