The trailer opens with the echoes of gunshots with an assertive female voice in the background saying, “Whatever you have to do, however long it takes, promise me you will find your way home.”

Film director George Miller’s action adventure Mad Max: Fury Road ticked off all the right boxes upon its inception in 2015. The film not only garnered rave reviews but also brought in the bucks at the ticket window. Now, thanks to the immense popularity of the Tom Hardy starrer, the makers are back with the film’s prequel almost 8 years later. Titled Mad Max: Furiosa, George Miller is back in the director’s seat for the upcoming Marvel with a star cast. Headlined by Queen’s Gambit actress Anya Taylor-Joy as Furiosa, Warner Bros recently dropped the much-anticipated trailer of Mad Max: Furiosa that promises an extra dose of madness and adventure.

The trailer opens with the echoes of gunshots with an assertive female voice in the background saying, “Whatever you have to do, however long it takes, promise me you will find your way home." Soon, it is revealed that the words were meant for Furiosa aka Anya Taylor-Joy, who appears on the screen seemingly lost in a desert sporting an intense avatar, her face smeared with mud as if she underwent a rigorous experience. The textual layout in the video then informs viewers that 45 years after a “collapse" a young Furiosa is taken away from her family with the woman now leaving no stone unturned to return to her home. “This is her Odyssey" read the text.

Embedded with high-octane action sequences, guns blazing, and stunning visuals, Mad Max: Furiosa promises a power-packed film that can keep the audience on the edge of their seat. Glimpses of Chris Hemsworth as Dementus also feature in the trailer. As per the film’s official plot, it will show Furiosa being taken away by a Biker Horde led by the Warlord Dementus from the Green Place of Many Mothers. Between the war of two tyrants, Furiosa — “the darkest of all angels" must strive to survive.

Soon after the trailer release, fans of the Mad Max franchise reacted favourably to the film. While one user noted, “Nobody builds post-apocalyptic war machines like George and his team. Absolutely incredible," another quipped, “Omg I just got chills, I already know I’m going to see this at least 5 times in theater." “So excited for this, the movie score already sounds insane," came another remark.

Mad Max: Furiosa also stars Tom Burke, Angus Sampson, Daniel Webber, and Nathan Jones in important roles. The film will hit the big screens on May 24, 2024.
