Brazilian singer Dani Li has died due to complications during a liposuction surgery. She was 42. As reported by The Sun, the singer whose full name was Danielle Fonseca Machado, had an operation on Friday. She went for liposuction on her belly and had planned to do a breast reduction as well. However, she faced severe complications due to which she was rushed to hospital where she was declared dead.
“We are very shaken by all this. The burial will be on Saturday,” her husband, Marcelo Mira said as per Metro. The couple also has a 7-year-old daughter.
While the exact cause of Dani Li’s death is not known as of now, an investigation has already been ordered by the police officials.
The late singer’s family also shared a statement via her Instagram handle and revealed that a ceremony will take place for fans who wish to pay their last respects “to our star”. Check it out here:
“I deeply regret the death of the Amapá singer Dani Li, an artist who enchanted the stage with all her charisma and talent. In this time of deep sadness, I wish that family, fans, and friends find comfort and strength to face this loss. My feelings, may Dani Li shine forever in the memory and heart of all of us,” senator of Amapa state Davi Alcolumbre said, according to a report by Estadão.
“Dani made Macapá and Amapá her place to build her life. In addition to cheering everyone wherever she went with her high spirits, her voice represented the Amazon,” Congressman Dorinaldo Malafaia also added.
Dani Li was a popular singer in Brazil who rose to fame with her hit song ‘Eu sou da Amazonia’ (I’m from the Amazon). She was born in Afua in the Amazon jungle and started singing when she was just 5 years old. She later moved to Macapa at the age of 17.
