Manchester: Manchester United have made a 10.5 million euro offer for Lens defender Raphael Varane, according to L'Equipe.
The Red Devils face competition for his services though, as Manchester City, Paris Saint-Germain, and Lyon have all been tipped to sign the 18-year-old.
But it seems the bid places Sir Alex Ferguson's men ahead of the queue.
Speaking to France Football of his future, Varane said: "I know I have the choice. I can sign [for a foreign club] and move abroad, or I could join another club in Ligue 1.
"What interests me is playing regularly and so I have to think carefully and go to a club that will allow me to progress."
The France under-21 international played 23 times for Lens last term, but could not help them dodge the drop to Ligue 2.
He is tied to the Stade Felix Bollaert-based side until 2015.
