12 sides from ISL and 4 teams from the I-League will be part of the tournament scheduled to be played in Odisha scheduled to be played in January 2024.

The draw for the 2024 edition of the Kalinga Super Cup was held on Monday at the AIFF headquarters in New Delhi with the 16 teams participating in the tournament placed in four groups of four teams each.

12 sides from ISL and 4 teams from the I-League will be part of the tournament scheduled to be played in Odisha scheduled to be played in January 2024.

Mohun Bagan SG, East Bengal FC, Hyderabad FC, Kerala Blasters FC, NorthEast United FC, Jamshedpur FC, Mumbai City FC, Chennaiyin FC, Punjab FC, FC Goa, Odisha FC, Bengaluru FC are the ISL sides to play the Kalinga Cup while five I-League sides, Gokulam Kerala FC, Sreenidi Deccan FC, Shillong Lajong FC, Inter Kashi, and Rajasthan United FC, have confirmed their participation in the tournament with the top three placed sides in the domestic flight as of December 24, 2023, taking their place in Groups A, B and C respectively, while the fourth and fifth-placed sides will square off against one another in a playoff to determine the side that will fill the slot in Group D.

The top-placed team in all four groups will advance to the semifinals of the tournament.

The winner of the tournament will seal a berth in the 2024-25 AFC Champions League 2.

AIFF Acting Secretary General M Satyanarayan said, “I’d like to extend our thanks to the Odisha Government for facilitating this support for the Super Cup, which this year is going to be known as the Kalinga Super Cup.

“One of the reasons we are conducting it in January is because of the problems faced by the clubs when played in April last year.,” he added.

“One of the major rules we amended is that the clubs can field all six foreigners in the playing eleven. Hopefully, it will help the clubs. The winners will also get a continental club competition slot. Best of luck to all the teams,” he said.
