New Delhi: The Mohun Bagan-Bhaichung Bhutia stand-off has stretched far too long and the battle seems getting uglier each day especially due to the ineptness of the All India Football Federation (AIFF) who haven’t handled the matter as per the rules.
The Indian skipper and his legal counsel Ushanath Banerjee met the arbitrator appointed to solve the matter, Amarendra Sharan and put forth their demand of Rs 1 crore which the club has to pay up.
However, the Green and Maroons are in no mood to give up as their general secretary, Anjan Mitra merely ridiculed the Tinkitam Express.
"Bhaichung could have solved the issue within a minute but he was been misled from the very first day.
"Amongst the football fraternity in India, he has become a laughing stock as each day passes," said Mitra.
He further added that the Sikkimese Sniper could have had a word with the club and it’s officials to finish the matter more than three months back when the issue cropped up.
"When your boss asks that you aren’t doing your work properly or questions about it, what do you do? You just give an explanation on the same and end the matter there and then. The matter has gone long and Bhaichung is at loss all the while," he added.
When asked as to why the club distributed the copies of the show cause to the media, Mitra chose to remain mum.
