London: Arsenal have made a 10 million pounds bid for Everton defender Phil Jagielka, according to The Times.
The Gunners have been linked with a number of centre-backs this summer, including Blackburn's Christopher Samba and Bolton's Gary Cahill, but have turned their attentions to the England international.
Everton may be looking for double what Arsenal have offered for Jagielka, who Arsene Wenger has been linked with in the past.
The Sun are also reporting that the board at the Emirates Stadium are beginning to become disillusioned with the lack of activity in the transfer window.
Gervinho is the only major signing for the club this summer and the Gunners could be faced with high-profile exits as the sagas involving Cesc Fabregas and Samir Nasri continue.
Midfielders may also be high on Wenger's wish-list after Ricky Alvarez, who was reportedly a target for Arsenal, joined Inter.
Arsenal chief executive Ivan Gazidis claimed earlier this summer that the club had "substantial" resources at their disposal during this transfer window.
