Naga Chaitanya Says THIS About His Character In Thandel: 'Its Once In A Lifetime Role' | Exclusive
Naga Chaitanya opened up about his next film Thandel and the character that he would be essaying in it.

Actor Naga Chaitanya recently made his OTT debut with Amazon Prime’s supernatural thriller series Dhootha. The actor who portrays the role of a journalist has been receiving a lot of appreciation for his character. Last week, the Laal Singh Chadha actor started shooting for his next film titled Thandel.

Directed by Chandoo Mondeti under the banner of Geetha Arts, the film is based on true events. Ever since Chaitanya heard the story of Thandel, he decided to give everything for it. The actor took part in all the pre-production formalities and he underwent rigorous training and even grew his beard and hair to achieve the desired look. The shoot of the film is currently going on in Udipi, Karnataka, and will see Sai Pallavi playing the female lead.

In an exclusive conversation with News18, Chaitanya says that he is excited about the film, “It’s an interesting story. It is based on true events that occurred in Andhra Pradesh in 2018. “It’s a love story but inspired by real live events that happened to some Srikakulam fishermen. It’s an inspiring story, which also questions the politics of the time. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime role.”

Given his cinematic lineage on both sides of the family. His father Nagaarjuna and grandfather A Nageshwar Rao an acting legend in Telugu cinema. His maternal grandfather was the prominent producer D Rama Naidu, and his maternal uncle actor Venkatesh and cousin Rana Dagubatti are popular and well-known names in the industry.

Chaitnya reveals that he does have a few conversations about work with his father, “We don’t discuss work over dinner tables as we like to keep it casual at that time. But we do have our time when we sit down and specifically discuss work with each other. I also try to throw some ideas and get his opinion. We maintain a healthy work-life balance at home and Dad has always principled that which is a great thing.”

Ask him if Nagarjuna is a tough critic and he says, “Dad is more like a friend so he does give his opinion and in a very casual way he will put forward his criticism. There is no pressure around the conversation but he will put his point across. Also, he is a firm believer in making mistakes as he feels that is the only way one can learn. He has always encouraged us to speak our mind and explore our thoughts.”
