Singer Lauv is all set to come to India to perform at Lollapalooza India 2024, by BookMyShow. Into its second year, Lauv will be performing in India for the first time as part of the music festival. While we are hoping that he would sing some of his hits, including I Like Me Better, Who, All 4 Nothing and Paris in the Rain, Lauv exclusively told News18 Showsha that he has a secret performance up his sleeve.
“I have one surprise up my sleeve that I actually have to talk to my team about, I have to figure it out but I have something in particular. I don’t want to say it but it will really cool. Besides from that surprise, I think it would also be great to play like, I wasn’t planning on this but I think I’d play my song with DJ Snake. It would be really cool. I am excited to play Steal the Show, Like Me Better… I am excited to play it all," Lauv said.
Lauv has also sung a Hindi song. The singer lent his vocals to Good Newwz song Dil Na Jaaneya. Asked if he has plans to sing a Bollywood song as part of his playlist, the singer teased, “Maaaybe…", adding a little giggle along. When prompted to share a few more details about his surprise, Lauv said, “Probably something, something unreleased. I am known to do random, on the spot (music) but we’ll see. We have to see what I have done by then."

Although this is his first Lollapalooza performance in India, Lauv has already performed in India a couple of times. The Who hitmaker admitted that he would nab any opportunity to visit India and Lollapalooza India was just that. “Honestly, any opportunity for me to come to India, I would grab it. The shows have been so fun and I have only been a few couple of times. Also, I loved playing Lollapalooza in Chicago so I figured, best of both worlds, it would be very cool," he said.
Besides performing at Lollapalooza, Lauv plans to explore Mumbai during his visit. “Honestly, I need to make a list," he said, referring to his bucket list. “I have come twice to India and when I’ve come, I’ve done few touristy things and I have eaten good food but I wanna fill my schedule with meeting more people, doing more sighte seeing, maybe do one thing that is outside the city… That would be cool," he added.
The Never Not singer said he also hopes to socialise and make new friends in India during the visit. “It has been a while since I’ve seen (my friends in India). I have made a few friends in India but we haven’t spoken in a while so I got to reach out and honestly, I think I probably make a post on my Instagram and see who reaches out and make some new friends. That would be really sweet and fun," Lauv said.
Lauv will be performing on the first day of Lollapalooza India 2024. His gig is scheduled for 7 pm on Saturday, January 27. Tickets are available on BookMyShow.
