Jennifer Mistry 'Happy' As TMKOC's Gurucharan Singh Returns Home: 'Bata Ke Jaana Chahiye Tha' | Exclusive
Gurucharan Singh, who used to play the role of Jennifer Mistry's husband in TMKOC, was missing since April 22.

Jennifer Mistry is happy that her former Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah co-star Gurucharan Singh has returned home. Singh, who used to play the role of Mistry’s husband in the popular sitcom, was missing since April 22 but came back to his house in New Delhi on Friday night.

In an exclusive conversation with News18 Showsha, Jennifer Mistry expressed happiness that Gurucharan is safe and home. “That is a good news. He was missing for almost a month now. Everyone was worried, from his parents to fans. I knew that he would definitely come back. I also had a feeling that he must be out on some spiritual journey. He is a very spiritual person. I am happy this is the case and there is no trouble. I am sure his parents must be relieved now,” she said.

Gurucharan Singh was questioned by Delhi Police officials after he returned home on Friday night. During the interrogation, it was discovered that the actor had left home to be on a religious journey. Police officials say that Singh visited Gurudwaras in Amritsar and Ludhiana ever since he was reported “missing” but later realised that he should return home.

Asked if it was careless on Singh’s part to go on a religious journey without informing his family, Jennifer added, “I understand, anybody would feel like this. I am into spirituality. When there’s a spiritual calling, you feel it. You cannot think of anything else at that time. You feel like, ‘duniyadaari chod ke saadhu ban gaye’. I also feel the same sometimes but because I have a husband and a daughter, I have responsibility.”

However, the 45-year-old actress admitted that he should have informed his family about his whereabouts. “Of course, I think that he should have informed before leaving but we don’t know what his state of mind must be then,” she said.

Jennifer concluded by saying that she will speak to Gurucharan soon. “I will call him, let him settle down,” she shared.

Gurucharan Singh, who used to play the role of Roshan Singh Sodhi in TMKOC, was last seen on April 22, 2024. Even though he was supposed to take a flight from Delhi to Mumbai, he never reached the airport in the national capital. After Singh’s father filed a missing complaint, Delhi police stepped into action and took all possible measures to find him. Last week, News18 Showsha exclusively learnt that a team of police officials even visited the sets of TMKOC and questioned Singh’s former co-stars.
