Exactly two years ago, on October 29, Puneeth Rajkumar passed away. He was one of the marquee names of the Kannada film industry and the youngest of the five children of matinee idol Dr. Rajkumar. He died after suffering a cardiac arrest. The untimely death of the 46-year-old Kannada superstar left the entire nation shocked. On his second death anniversary, Puneeth’s elder brother Shiva Rajkumar sat down for an exclusive conversation with News18 and opened up about the Kannada star.
“Everybody is saying that Appu is no longer there but that doesn’t mean he has left us and gone completely. I don’t feel Puneeth has gone anywhere. He is here with us. I don’t want to send him away so quickly and we will keep him alive with his good memories and the amazing work that he did beyond films because otherwise, our lives will become difficult. We should celebrate rather than say we miss Puneeth,” he said.
The Ghost actor said he is yet to come to terms with his younger brother’s death. “It has been two years and it has been very difficult for the entire family to come to terms with the loss because he is the youngest in our family. Especially for me, he is my little brother. He is younger than me by 13 years, so sometimes it hurts, but life should go on. I don’t want to go and do a pooja at his samadhi always and forget him. I want to cherish our time. I want to have Appu always with me and try to show Appu in me to the people,” he said.
“I always think that he has gone for a long vacation and he will be coming back soon. In this process, we will always have a positive frame of mind. I want to have Appu always with me and try to show Appu in me to the people. Puneeth has always been my lucky charm and he will continue to do so,” he added.
