In a bid to keep up with the advanced digital technology, Veer Kunwar Singh University has made its examination department digital. This step will prevent fraud in the examination mark sheet issued by the University and fake mark sheet scams will be thwarted with the help of QR codes.
This important decision will help make verification of mark sheets convenient and easy. Apart from QR codes, holograms are also being applied on the mark sheet. The QR codes and hologram will be on the mark sheets of all examinations including undergraduates and post-graduates. The certificate obtained by students now has these QR codes. This code can be scanned and verified from anywhere without any hassle.
This comes as a relief and a measure on behalf of the University, amid the news of mark sheet fraud and controversies. In the post-graduate admissions session, it was revealed that many students sought admission by forging their mark sheets and changing their marks. To tackle this, the university formed a committee to investigate the matter. Now, the examination department and students can have a sigh of relief since their mark sheets will have QR codes and holograms which will help in preventing fraud and forgery.
The hologram and the QR code-equipped mark sheets when scanned will show the student’s name, class and registration number. This will prevent forgery and the production of fake mark sheets to seek admission and make the verification step easier. Examination Controller Anwar Imam said that the mark sheets that are given out now are different from the mark sheets given earlier. In fact, the design of the mark sheet has also changed.
