Over 12.51 lakh teachers, students, and parents have registered to participate in Pariksha Pe Charcha – an annual discussion with Prime Minister Narendra Modi over exams and related issues. This year, PPC will be conducted virtually owing to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. It is likely to be held towards the end of this month.

Where to Watch

The event will be live telecasted on both Facebook as well as Twitter and that those who could not register for PPC can also listen to PM Narendra Modi.

At the event, Modi interacts with the school students of classes 9 to 12 ahead of the exam season. These discussions are part of a larger moment called ‘Exam Warriors’ which aims to create a stress-free assessment and examination environment for students. Modi has also penned a book called ‘Exam Warriors’ on the same theme.

PPC was launched in 2018 and has become an annual event since. In the last session of PPC, PM had interacted with parents, teachers, and other stakeholders. In one of the widely remembered moments, answering a mother’s query about her son who plays too many video games, PM had said, “yeh PuBG wala hai kya?”

Participation process

This year, all the participants were asked to submit their responses for any one of the themes specified for them. Themes for students included, exams are like festivals, celebrate them; India is incredible, travel and explore, As one journey ends, another begins; Aspire, not to be, but to do, and be grateful. Themes for teachers included ‘online education system – its benefits and how it can be improved further’. While for parents, the themes were ‘your words make your child’s world – encourage, as you have always done’, and ‘be your child’s friend—keep depression away’.

Students were also provided with an opportunity to ask exam-related questions or queries to PM Modi in 500 characters.

Who will interact with PM?

All the participants who have successfully submitted their entries will receive a digital certificate of participation while 1500 students, 250 teachers, and 250 parents will get an opportunity to directly interact with the PM.

Winners will get the opportunity to be a direct participant in the Pariksha Pe Charcha virtual event along with the Prime Minister. A small group of students from among the winners will get the opportunity to directly interact with the Prime Minister and ask him questions. Each of these special winners will also get a digital souvenir of their autographed photograph along with the Prime Minister.
