The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) has released the first round of seat allotment results today, June 20. Candidates will now have the online reporting period to complete various tasks including fee payment, document upload and responding to queries. The allotment is being done for candidates who have applied for admission to undergraduate programs at the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and seats within the NIT+ system.
Candidates who have registered for the counselling process can download their seat allotment from the official website, josaa.nic.in, starting at 10 AM. To access the seat allotments, candidates will need to enter their registration number and date of birth.
From June 20 to June 25, candidates will be required to complete fee payment, upload documents and respond to any queries if needed for Round 1. The deadline for responding to queries for Round 1 is scheduled for June 26, 2024. The JoSAA counselling procedure would last five rounds. The results of the allocation for the upcoming round will be released on June 27, July 4, July 10, and July 17, in that order.
Documents Required for Verification
The provisional seat allotment letter, two passport-size photographs along with an undertaking by the candidate. Additionally, proof of seat acceptance fee payment via e-challan or net banking of SBI is necessary. SC/ST/PwD candidates will be paying Rs 15,000 and others Rs 35,000.
A valid photo ID card, JEE Advanced 2024 admit card and proof of date of birth (10th standard mark sheet) are also required. Further, candidates need to submit their 12th standard mark sheet and pass certificate, along with a medical certificate. Category and PwD certificates should be provided if applicable, and for foreign nationals, a passport or OCI certificate is needed, along with a DS certificate if applicable. Candidates must present their registration cum locked choices for seat allotment.
As per reports, during online reporting, students will have the option to choose between freeze, float and slide. If a student is satisfied with the seat allotted to them in the first round and does not wish to participate in further process, the candidate can choose the freeze option. On the other hand, students who want to participate in further counselling rounds can select the float or slide options.
The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) counselling for 2024 will enable admissions to 121 institutes for the academic year 2024-25. These institutes include 23 Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), 31 National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology (IIEST) Shibpur, 26 Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), and 40 other Government Funded Technical Institutes (Other-GFTIs).
