There is an opportunity for the students appearing in JEE 2024 to experience the life of the IIT campus at IIT Madras. For this, IIT Madras is going to organise ‘Demo Day’ on June 15 and 16.
As per reports, candidates can register on the website askiitm.com/demo. Candidates who cannot go to the campus of IIT Madras will also be able to participate in the online session on June 17th.
During the online session, the director of the institute, Professor V Kamakoti and other faculty and alumni will answer questions related to the academic and non-academic life of the IIT Madras campus. Students in and around Bengaluru and Hyderabad can also choose to participate in Satellite Demo Day events. The satellite demo day will be held on June 11 at the SD Auditorium, IISc, Bengaluru. On June 12, it will be held at T-Hub, Hyderabad.
Meanwhile, the administrative department of IIT Madras has shared that this is an opportunity for candidates to get authentic information directly by interacting with current and former students and teachers. During this time, students can also seek clarification about the recent changes. For example, they can get information about B.Tech. Artificial Intelligence, started by IIT Madras’s newest department, the Wadhwani School of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence.
According to Prof. V. Kamakoti, Director, IIT Madras, the Demo Day is part of the AskIITM initiative, designed and run by alumni and students. Aside from these events, applicants can ask questions regarding courses, instructors, campus life, placements and other topics at the website askiitm.com. A team of alumni student volunteers will answer these. Aspirants can also browse through existing answers.
Recently, IIT Madras administered the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced 2024 on May 26. The exam was administered in two shifts: morning and afternoon. The entrance test consisted of two papers: Paper 1 and Paper 2.
The duration of both exam papers was three hours. Paper 1 was scheduled from 9 a.m. to noon and Paper 2 was held from 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. However, the JEE Advanced 2024 question paper has been divided into three sections: chemistry, physics and mathematics.
