One of the most difficult exams in India is the UPSC exam. To clear the civil services exam, a person has to dedicate several hours of study time. Thousands of applicants try to qualify for the IRS, IPS, IFS and IAS exams every year.
Only a few of them make it through the extremely difficult exam. IPS Kamyaa Misra is one of those who have cracked the UPSC exam. Kamyaa Mishra, who hails from Odisha, has received national recognition for her feat of clearing the coveted UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) exam in the first attempt. Her journey is an example of dedication and hard work.
Kamyaa, who hails from Odisha, has always been a bright student. In class 12, she scored an outstanding 98.6 per cent, becoming the regional topper. After completing class 12, Kamya enrolled at Delhi University. There, she completed her studies at the prestigious Lady Shri Ram College. She decided to prepare for the UPSC exams while studying.
Passing the UPSC exam requires multiple attempts, though it is considered to be very challenging. But, Kamyaa showed her skills and cleared the exam on the first attempt. She was selected for the Indian Police Service 2019 after scoring AIR 172 in the UPSC exam.
According to media reports, she was only 22 years old. She was initially assigned to the Himachal cadre but was later transferred to the Bihar cadre. In 2021, she married Awadhesh Saroj, an IPS officer from the Bihar cadre. The two got married in Udaipur. Awadhesh is a graduate of the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay.
Along with her professional success, Kamyaa’s personal life also blossomed when she found a companion in Awadhesh Saroj, an IPS officer who shared her commitment to public service. They both got married in Udaipur and symbolised not only a bond of love but also a shared devotion to the noble cause of serving the nation.
