The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) carried out a surprise inspection in 27 of their affiliated schools in Rajasthan and New Delhi on September 3. The purpose of this inspection was to take action to curb the menace of dummy schools and make sure that the board-affiliated schools are ‘strictly’ following the guidelines established by the CBSE.
CBSE published a press release on their official website and detailed the action taken for dummy schools. According to the statement, “The inspections were carried out by 27 teams, each comprising a CBSE officer and a Principal from a CBSE-affiliated school. The inspections were meticulously planned and executed in a synchronised manner, taking place simultaneously across all selected schools within a short timeframe. This approach was adopted to maintain the element of surprise, thereby ensuring that the information gathered about the operations and compliance of the schools is accurate and reflective of their everyday functioning.”
The CBSE further stated that it is committed to upholding high standards in education and demands strict adherence to its regulations from all affiliated schools. The CBSE added, “The findings from these inspections will be reviewed comprehensively, and appropriate actions will be taken in cases of non-compliance.”
To guarantee that connected schools maintain the quality and standards required by the Board, CBSE reaffirmed its dedication to strict oversight and said it would keep carrying out these kinds of unannounced inspections.
Meanwhile, in line with the National Curriculum Framework for School Education (NCF-SE), the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) announced earlier this week the official launch of “Composite Skill Labs” to improve skill-based education in all CBSE-affiliated schools.
Through the integration of education with industry demands and the promotion of practical learning in the real world, this effort seeks to prepare students for successful skill development. Numerous CBSE schools presently lack the necessary infrastructure and supplies for appropriate instruction, according to the announcement.
All CBSE schools are required by the direction to establish two distinct laboratories, each with a minimum space of 400 square feet, or one composite skill lab for Classes 6 through 12. The lab must be at least 600 square feet in size. In the two-lab approach, Classes 11 and 12 will be served by one lab, while Classes 6 through 10 will be served by the other. These labs will be fully furnished with all the instruments and technology required to establish an extensive learning environment.
