The second season of the Women’s Premier League is just a day away from commencing as WPL 2024 begins on Friday, February 23. After the inaugural edition of WPL ended up being a successful venture, with the best players in the world playing under one roof, the cricketing fraternity is filled with frenzy and fervour for WPL 2024.
The opening game of the season will be played between the top two teams from the previous edition: Mumbai Indians Women (defending champions) and Delhi Capitals (runners-up). As was the case last season, five teams will battle it out for the coveted WPL trophy over 24 days and 22 games. The top three teams will make it to the playoffs. The team that tops the table will book a berth directly in the final. The second and third-placed teams will contest each other in the Eliminator, with the victor progressing to the final.
