Jamaican sprinter Yohan Blake was left disappointed by the Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s bowling against the Mumbai Indians on Thursday. Playing at the Wankhede Stadium, MI overhauled the 196-run target set by Royal Challengers Bengaluru in quick time.
Spearheaded by Ishan Kishan, Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav, the hosts were able to finish the game in just 15.3 overs. Suryakumar’s quickfire 17-ball fifty in the second innings ended up sparking a reaction from the Jamaican athlete on social media platform X (formerly Twitter).
Blake acknowledged Surya’s batting but said that RCB could have bowled better during the run chase.
“I know Suryakumar Yadav can really bat. But come on RCB, that’s bad bowling”, Blake posted.

After RCB won the contest, Blake shared a post on X saying, “Wow this game of cricket is crazy. Love it so much what about last night but a super over in this wonderful game today.”

Thursday’s enticing match between MI and RCB began with the former winning the toss and bowling first.
Virat Kohli failed to make an impact for the visitors in the powerplay, losing his wicket to Jasprit Bumrah early. Faf du Plessis led from the front, smashing 61 runs in 40 deliveries. He received excellent support from Rajat Patidar and Dinesh Karthik – each scoring a half-century.

RCB eventually finished the innings with 196 runs for the loss of eight wickets. Bumrah ended up registering a sublime five-wicket haul.
The second half saw MI making a blistering start as Ishan Kishan belted 69 runs in just 34 balls. Rohit Sharma added 38 runs before Suryakumar scored his half century.
MI skipper Hardik Pandya was the one to finish the game with a six, wrapping up his innings at 21 runs in 6 balls. This sealed the Mumbai-based franchise’s second win of the IPL 2024 season.
