Rohit Sharma & Virat Kohli Return, 10 Players Dropped! Changes In Team India For ODI Series Against Sri Lanka
Rohit Sharma is back in the Indian team and will lead the side in a three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka that starts on August 2 in Colombo.

World No. 1 ODI team India will face Sri Lanka in a three-match ODI series next month. All three matches are scheduled to take place at R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on August 2, 4, and 7, respectively. The BCCI announced India’s 15-member squad for the only ODI series in 2024 on Thursday (July 18) via an X post. Rohit Sharma is back in the team for the away series against the 1996 ODI World Cup winners and will lead the side as well.

Batting superstar Virat Kohli will also be seen in action against the Sri Lankan team, but star pacer Jasprit Bumrah has been rested for the entire tour. All-rounder Hardik Pandya was also not included in the squad after he reportedly asked for a break due to personal reasons.

India last played an ODI match on December 21, 2023, against South Africa in Paarl, and only five players from the squad picked for that series are able to retain their place in the side for the upcoming three 50-over matches.

Here’s a look at the complete list of changes in the Indian team for the ODI series against Sri Lanka:
