Facing Bangladesh at home hasn’t been easy for Shan Masood & Co in the ongoing first Test in Rawalpindi. Though the game is heading towards a draw with just a day left, Pakistan have been challenged repeatedly by Bangladesh in the series opener. The visitors replied to Pakistan’s 448/6 with a daunting 565, taking a 117-run lead in the first innings.
While the hosts keep on getting flak on social media for their lacklustre appearance against Bangladesh, former captain Babar Azam has been equally exposed to criticism for his underwhelming performances. After securing a 2-ball duck in the first innings, Babar dropped Bangladesh wicketkeeper-batter Mushfiqur Rahim who top-scored with 191.
The incident happened on the 4th day of the match when Rahim was batting on 150. The Bangladesh veteran looked to dab a flighted delivery from Salman Ali Agha but directed it towards Babar at legslip. The ball came off the glove as Rahim tried keeping the ball low but Babar’s dropped catch let Bangladesh extend their innings.

Meanwhile, the Pakistan cricket fans launched a brutal attack against Babar, trolling him for losing a big opportunity.

Pakistan were 23-1 at the close of play, with Abdullah Shafique on 12 and skipper Shan Masood on nine. The home team trailed by 94 runs after making 448-6 declared in the first innings.
Bangladesh, who have lost 12 of the 13 Tests against Pakistan, will hope their spinners can extract some turn from a Rawalpindi pitch that has been unresponsive so far.
