Musheer Khan Surpasses Sachin Tendulkar in Elite Run-Scoring List After Stellar 181 on Duleep Trophy Debut
Musheer Khan now finds himself amongst an elite list of batters after his scintillating knock of 181 on his Duleep Trophy debut.

Musheer Khan played a knock for the ages in India B’s Duleep Trophy fixture against India A at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. The 19-year-old scored a fine 181 in 373 deliveries to help his side get to a decent score in the first innings.

Despite wickets falling at regular intervals on the other end, the youngster showcased his class to get some runs on the board. It was with tail-ender, Navdeep Saini that Musheer was able to find someone who could hold their end as the two went on to set up a mammoth 205-run partnership. This is also the highest eighth-wicket partnership in the history of the tournament.

Musheer on the other hand, went on to put his names amongst some of the elite batters across generations with his immense knock on debut.

Highest Score by a Teenager on Duleep Trophy Debut

The 19-year-old finds himself amongst some elite domestic batters like Baba Aparajith, Yash Dhull and of course the legendary Sachin Tendulkar as well. Musheer’s score of 181 sits third in the list while Aparajith’s 212 stands at the very top amongst the Duleep Trophy debutants.

The youngster has come a long way since delivering some fine performances in the ICC Under-19 World Cup in 2024 where he scored 360 runs to become the second-highest run-scorer.

His innings came to an end thanks to the experienced Kuldeep Yadav who got the batter to go aggressive against him. The left-arm wrist-spinner took that to his advantage and caused Musheer to mistime a shot which fell onto the hands of Riyan Parag at the deep.

Musheer’s batting partner, Saini has also gone on to score a well-deserved half-century as India B looks to have a controlling position in their first game of the tournament. With a big score on the board, the match will come down to the bowlers to get the job done quickly and enforce a win.
