Bollywood actress Shehnaaz Gill was in attendance at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium where Mumbai Indians secured a commanding victory over Royal Challengers Bengaluru in an Indian Premier League (IPL) match on Thursday, April 11. Shehnaaz Gill was seated in the VIP stands with Munawar Faruqui and others, who cheered for their favourite team throughout the game. In a video going viral on social media, the group of youngsters including Shehnaaz Gill were seen sharing high-fives as they witnessed the match. The clip was shared on Instagram by a celebrity photographer with the caption, “Shehnaaz Gill enjoying the IPL, cheering her favourite team from the front.”

It was a joyous night for the home crowd as Mumbai Indians showed their dominance across departments. Hardik Pandya won the toss and sent Royal Challengers Bengaluru to bat first. Jasprit Bumrah brought the hosts an early success by sending off Virat Kohli in the third over. The next RCB batter, Will Jacks, also failed to survive longer and was trapped for caught behind by Gerald Coetzee.

Faf du Plessis, however, held the wicket and the other end. The RCB captain began the rescue operation, joining hands with Rajat Patidar. Both batters showed their composure while also registering occasional boundaries to keep the scoreboard ticking. The duo stitched a crucial 82-run partnership, with RCB crawling back to the contest.

Faf Du Plessis scored 61 runs off 40 balls while Rajat Patidar notched a blazing fifty in just 25 deliveries. After they returned to the pavilion, Dinesh Karthik took over the charge.

The veteran wicketkeeper-batter played an unbeaten knock of 53 runs which comprised five boundaries and four maximums. Riding on his quickfire innings, RCB posted 196 runs on the board.

Mumbai Indians were not troubled much during the chase. Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan racked up 101 runs together before the former was dismissed by Will Jacks. Then came Suryakumar Yadav who stole the show with his power hitting. He smashed 52 off just 19 balls, taking Mumbai to a comfortable situation.

Hardik Pandya and Tilak Verma did the remaining work, helping Mumbai Indians secure a seven-wicket win in the home game. Following the victory, the five-time champions climbed up to the seventh spot in the IPL standings.
