The Yellow Army is one of the biggest fanbases within the tournament and MS Dhoni seemed to be eyeing to give them a treat with a strong finish, but he was unable to do so and took two singles to hand over the reins to the current skipper, Ruturaj Gaikwad who finished off the game with a boundary towards the point region to make it three wins in five games played.

This also makes it their third win at home with all their points coming through the wins they have picked up at Chepauk. They will look to improve how they approach their games especially when on the road. Their next game will be against the rivals, Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium on April 14.
