After winning the T20 World Cup 2024, India all-rounder Hardik Pandya received a stupendous homecoming when he returned to his hometown of Baroda recently.
The 30-year-old uploaded a video on his official handle on X where he was grateful for the reception he had upon his return to his homeland. Fans were buzzing left, right and centre upon the arrival of their hometown hero who had a decisive role to play in India’s T20 World Cup-winning campaign in the West Indies and the United States of America.

Pandya captioned the post, “Surreal! Thank you for all the love Baroda, thank you for the support and thank you for making this such a special day. So many emotions, but always grateful”.
The all-rounder managed to shut down his biggest critics with his performance in the T20 showpiece event as he contributed with both bat and ball to help India lift the trophy for the second time in their history.

Now the Indian team will focus on their next assignment which is their white-ball tour of Sri Lanka later this July where Hardik Pandya could be the skipper for the side’s T20I games.
The Indian team will be taking part in a three-m atch T20I series followed by a three-match ODI series in Sri Lanka which will also be Gautam Gambhir’s first tour after being appointed as the Head Coach of the Indian team.
The tour is set to begin on July 27 and be completed on August 4. The squads for the tour are yet to be announced but are expected to be announced soon.

Hardik Pandya will once again play a crucial role in the long run as the side will look to prepare themselves for the future ICC tournaments where they will be looking to win it all and Pandya’s contributions will likely have a big role in determining their fortunes in the future.
