India's lead pacer, Jasprit Bumrah hailed the efforts of his fellow fast-bowler Akash Deep for his efforts in the Test series against Banlgadesh.

As India went onto register a thumping win in the second Test against Bangladesh in Kanpur, the lead Indian pacer, Jasprit Bumrah hailed his fellow fast-bowler, Akash Deep for his efforts which helped India continue their dominance at home for the longest format.

Bumrah who spoke in the post-match presentation, shared some insights of how their relationship on the field is like.

“He comes up to me quite a lot. Before a spell, he asked me what was happening, What do you think I should do? So we’ve had a lot of interesting conversations,” Bumrah shared.

Bumrah was also pleased with the pacer’s efforts in the recently concluded Test series against Bangladesh where despite not being the outright top performer in the series, he still had his moments where he delivered some key wickets or helped build up the pressure from one end.

“The energy he brings onto the ball, he gives it his absolute, best in the field and as well as when he’s bowling. So he’s got a lot of heart. So that’s a great sign for us going forward as well,” Bumrah commented.

“So yes, I’m very happy with the way he’s progressing and hopefully, he grows from strength to strength,” he added.

With the win in Kanpur, India has once again maintained their unbeaten streak at home which dates back to 2012. In addition to this, the Indian team have also maintained their spot at the top of the World Test Championship standings as well.

Now their next assignment will be the three-match Test series against New Zealand at home followed by the five-match series against Australia where India would make the trip Down Under to defend the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024.

In the limited-overs segment, the Indian team will also take on Bangladesh in a three-match T20I series beginning on October 6. Suryakumar Yadav will once again return to the side to lead the Indian unit as the World T20 Champions look to continue their dominant run with the first game taking place at Gwalior.

Rohit Sharma and co will be eager to take home as many wins as possible to confirm their spot in a third-consecutive WTC final where they hope to finally lay claim to their inaugural WTC Championship title.
