IND vs AFG 3rd T20I: India have already taken an unassailable 2-0 lead and are eyeing a clean sweep in Bengaluru tonight.

India captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and opted to bat first against Afghanistan in the third and final T20I of the ongoing three-match series being played at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Wednesday.

India have made three changes to their playing XI for this contest. They have rested Axar Patel, Arshdeep Singh and Jitesh Sharma while bringing in Sanju Samson, Kuldeep Yadav and Avesh Khan.

“We bowled in the first two games, so we’ll bat today. Nothing to do with the wicket, just want to try some combinations and give some chances. We have ticked a few boxes, this is another opportunity to try new faces,” Rohit said at the toss.

Afghanistan have made four changes to their playing XI that took the field in Indore. Naveen-ul-Haq, Mujeeb-ur-Rahman, Fazalhaq Farooqi and Noor Ahmad are out and in walk Sharafuddin Ashraf, Qais Ahmed, Mohamamd Saleem Saifi and Fareed Ahmad Malik.

“We wanted to bowl first. We have taken some positives from the series, we’ll try for a few more today,” Afghanistan captain Ibrahim Zadran said.

India have been dominant in the first two games with the likes of Shivam Dube and Yashasvi Jaiswal sparkling with the bat. Dube has struck back-to-back half-centuries, playing an intrinsic role both the victories.

This is India’s final T20I before the 2024 T20 world cup scheduled to be held in June this year.

Former England cricketer Nick Night during his pitch report said there are lot of crack on the pitch and it could be “two paced”.
