Leo, featuring Thalapathy Vijay, had been one of the most eagerly awaited films of the year and is currently basking in a phenomenal run at the box office. The directorial prowess of Lokesh Kanagaraj has propelled the film closer to the prestigious 600-crore club. The production banner, Seven Screen Studio, recently announced that within 12 days of its release, the movie has raked in a staggering Rs 540 crore in worldwide earnings. Even on the 13th day of its theatrical run, Leo continues to hold its ground as a cinematic force to be reckoned with. Following in the footsteps of Rajinikanth’s Jailer, Leo has emerged as the next big hit of the year in the Tamil film industry.
Despite facing numerous controversies and legal challenges surrounding its trailer, Leo was finally released on October 19th and swiftly shattered multiple records. The production house took to social media to express its jubilation, stating, “Fireproof Box Office Records. There’s nothing you can do. 540+ Crores gross collection in just 12 Days, Leo Worldwide Badass Box Office Sambavam.”

According to entertainment tracker Sacnilk, on the 12th day, the film added Rs 4.45 crore to its domestic box office earnings, amassing a total of Rs 362.35 crore. The international collections of “Leo” on Day 12 amounted to Rs 181 crore. This brought the movie’s total worldwide earnings to an impressive Rs 543.35 crore, with the overall occupancy for the Tamil version standing at 21.64 per cent.
On Day 13, the film continued its strong performance, collecting Rs 4.1 crore. The Tamil version of the film had an overall occupancy rate of 19 per cent on Day 13, while the Telugu dubbed version reported a 27 per cent occupancy, and the Hindi version maintained an overall occupancy of 5.99 per cent.
Before the release of Leo, there were speculations that it might be a part of the Lokesh Cinematic Universe (LCU), although this was consistently denied by the team. However, Lokesh has now revealed an intriguing connection between Thalapathy Vijay’s character, Parthiban in Leo, and Fahadh Faasil’s character, Amar, in Vikram. Fans had previously observed that both characters grew up in the same-named orphanage, the Sathyamangalam Orphanage. Lokesh confirmed this connection and disclosed that he had contemplated it earlier as well. He further mentioned that all the films within the LCU would revolve around the theme of children fighting against drug-related issues, with the Sathyamangalam Orphanage playing a pivotal role in their interconnected storylines.
Apart from Thalapathy Vijay, this action-packed entertainer boasts an ensemble cast, including Sanjay Dutt, Trisha Krishnan, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Mysskin, Arjun Sarja, Mathew Thomas, and George Maryan in pivotal roles. The film’s music is composed by the maestro Anirudh Ravichander.
