GV Prakash Kumar-starrer Tamil film Adiyae was released on the big screens on August 25 this year. It received positive reviews from critics and the audience alike. Now, makers have come up with the OTT release date for this film as well. Adiyae, a science fiction movie, will start streaming on Sony LIV on September 29. GV Prakash announced the release date by sharing a short promo of this film on Instagram. He wrote in the caption, “Destiny has its plans, join us in the parallel universe of Adiyae, the quirky rom-com streaming exclusively on Sony LIV from September 29th.”
Social media users congratulated GV Prakash for the OTT release and requested him to dub this film in Telugu and Hindi as well. Sony LIV replied in the comment section, “Hello, we request you to stay tuned to our social media handles for further updates on the movie.” Others appreciated this Vignesh Karthick-directorial film.
Adiyae revolves around Jeeva (GV Prakash Kumar), a depressed young man burdened by the loss of his parents. He likes Senthazhini, (Gouri Kishan), who is now a renowned singer. Jeeva is unable to express his emotions, but his life takes an unexpected turn due to a tragic accident. Jeeva witnesses an alternate reality, where he awakens as Arjun, a successful music director, with Senthazhini as his wife. What happens afterwards forms the core theme of this film. Venkat Prabhu, Mirchi Vijay, and Madumkesh also acted in this film.
A press meeting of Adiyae took place on September 14 at Prasad Digital Film Lab, Chennai. GV Prakash said at the event, “First of all, I have to thank the media. After an exclusive screening for the press, the film received rave reviews and reached the masses through social media. Following this, the film became a huge commercial success as well. It’s rare to invest in the current environment and make a film, release it in theatres, be successful, and turn a profit. In that sense, it is good that the film has been successful at the box office as well.”
