New Delhi: Congress MP Deepa Das Munshi on Wednesday criticised Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee for asking Railway Minister Dinesh Trivedi's removal from the Cabinet.
"Mamata's destructive attitude is known to everybody. Mamata is also part of UPA government. It is her responsibility. Mamata should settle problems within her party first," teh Congress MP said.
Munshi said that an emergency meeting of the Congress party has been called to take stock of the situation. "our party meeting is on. A group of ministers is meeting now," he said.
"Mamata has dishonoured the Congress in Bengal," he added.
Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday asked Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to remove Dinesh Trivedi as the Railway Minister after he took the bold and politically suicidal decision of an across-the-board increase in passenger fares, the first since 2002.
