Royal Enfield has launched its latest offering in India. The highly anticipated Continental GT has officially come to our shores priced at Rs 2.05 lakh (on-road, Delhi) and Rs 2.15 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). The motorcycle was launched in the UK earlier this year. It was first showcased at the Auto Expo 2012.
It has been 60 years since the last cafe racer from Royal Enfield. The Continental GT gets a fuel injected 535cc single-cylinder engine that delivers a maximum power of 29PS and 44Nm of peak torque. The rig is completed with a 5-speed gearbox. The total fuel tank capacity is 13.5 litres and the motorcycle weighs 184kg (fuelled). with 90 per cent oil and fuel.
Suspension duties are handled by telescopic forks at front and Paioli twin gas-charged shock absorbers at the rear. The motorcycle has 18 inch spoked wheels, which wear Pirelli Sport Demon tyres. Stopping power comes from a 300mm floating Brembo disc brake setup up front and a 240mm disc at the rear.
