One of WWE’s greatest-ever superstars, the Undertaker has reflected on some past conversations with late wrestler Bray Wyatt. The ‘Phenom’ and Wyatt didn’t feature on live television that often but were seen in some impactful crossovers.
Talking about Wyatt on Insight With Chris Van Vliet, the multi-time world champion revealed the advice he shared with the late superstar during their time in the company together.
“His [Wyatt] questions with me and when he wanted to pick my brain it often dealt more with the I’ll say political side of it…Trying to convey to him how to convey to the people he had to work with when sometimes you know when things were going to be a little bit different than what they were used to," the Undertaker revealed.
In the same interview, the Undertaker also talked about how he and Wyatt had a different yet similar approach in the WWE.
He said, “We talked about a lot of different things but just perspective on…because he was like me in a sense that he was doing things that were different from what everybody else was doing just like I was doing things that were different when I came up. Both of them though were completely different but the same."
The Undertaker further explained that the similarities led Wyatt to approach him and discuss how the ‘Deadman’ dealt with everything. “So he was just basically asking me a lot of times, how I handled that…how I presented ideas to opponents and things like that. He was just like a sponge and wanted to learn and know more and how to handle things more," Undertaker concluded.
Speaking about Wyatt’s sudden passing away, the Undertaker voiced that it was a tragedy for both the wrestling business and the fans. “Such a tragedy, man. He had so much to offer not just to the wrestling business but just as a human being. He was just a really kind soul," the WWE icon said.
Wyatt and Undertaker had a memorable storyline in 2015. Following the Royal Rumble that year, Wyatt was involved in several cryptic promos, referring to himself as the new face of fear. At WWE Fastlane, the late wrestler emerged out of a casket to challenge the Undertaker for a match at WrestleMania 31 but was unable to beat him at the Show of the Shows.
Nearly a decade after the iconic WrestleMania match, Wyatt passed away unexpectedly at the age of 36. The cause of the death was reportedly a heart attack that was triggered by a COVID-19 infection.
