The legendary Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson could be teasing a potential Wrestlemania headliner by teasing a feud with the current Undisputed WWE Universal Champion, Roman Reigns.
Both are said to be cousins, but not by blood. The two have been on good terms for quite some time with Reigns even working with Johnson in the Fast franchise as part of Johnson’s family in the movie.
However, the rising stock of Roman Reigns has been unstoppable and it seems that the clash between the two Samoan stars could be inevitable. The current roster does not seem to have anyone at the moment who can match the hype generated by Reigns.
Rather than letting Reign’s stock die down, they could set up a once-in-a-liftetime moment by putting him up against the Rock.
In the Pat McAfee show, the Rock was seen in an interview where he was open to the idea of him going up against the Tribal Chief, Roman Reigns.

The Rock had confirmed in the interview that there were plans for him to headline Wrestlemania 39 going against Reigns and even came to a verbal agreement with the WWE Chairman, Vince McMahon and the president, Nick Khan in early 2022. However, the people involved were not able to come to an understanding of how the story would progress further.

Johnson wanted to give the fans a longer storyline, one that WWE probably were not interested in doing and his absence meant that Cody Rhodes would go on to win the Rumble match as he returned from his torn pectoral muscle injury and went ahead and challenged Reigns for his undisputed WWE Universal Championship.
Johnson being pitted against Reigns could give the WWE Universe a similar match-up to that between the Rock and John Cena which was marketed as a once-in-a-lifetime bout, the hype was unreal as the fans were entertained with brilliant promos and eventually an amazing storyline for the fans to enjoy.

Another unique element to the storyline could be the Samoan heritage both wrestlers share. This could be used by the creators to bring a whole new dimension to the meaning of the Tribal Chief, rather than bouncing around with the likes of the Uso’s which some members of the WWE Universe have been exhausted seeing.
