Tesla CEO Elon Musk is known for speaking his mind, and recently he criticized political parties. On a social media platform, formerly known as Twitter, Musk stated that no political party is always right.
“Anyone who claims that their political party does no wrong, and the other party does no right, is either a liar, a fool, or both,” Musk wrote.

This statement comes as the United States Presidential Elections 2024 campaigning intensifies, with President Joe Biden and his Republican rival Donald Trump gearing up for the competition.
This isn’t the first time Musk has expressed his political views. In January, he joined former US President Donald Trump and Republican critics to denounce the contentious Senate border deal that President Joe Biden described as the “toughest” set of reforms.
“No laws need to be passed” to halt the US border crisis, Musk, posted on X, calling it “undeniable” that Biden has pursued an “open border” policy.
Later, he said that anyone who believes in the promises made by a political party is an idiot.
“As a general rule, if you believe everything your political party says, you are an idiot,” Musk wrote.
Earlier, Musk extended open support to the Republican Party. In 2022, he announced his political switch from Democrat to Republican while responding to his social media followers.
“In the past, I voted Democrat because they were (mostly) the kindness party,” he wrote. “But they have become the party of division & hate, so I can no longer support them and will vote Republican.”
Similarly last week, Musk shared insight into his exchanges with Donald Trump, revealing that the former US President is a fan of Cybertruck, a high-performance pickup truck made by one of the world’s biggest EV makers.
At the shareholder meeting, Musk characterised Trump as “very nice” during their conversations, where he advocated for the benefits of EVs and stressed America’s leadership in battery-powered cars. According to Musk, Trump’s affinity for the Cybertruck may stem from the vehicle’s popularity among his friends.
