Social media users were surprised to see this security in the United Arab Emirates.

A clip of a Dubai-based vlogger named Tetiana Skoryna charging her smartphone from an open charging point is going viral. The Instagram video shows Tetiana walking to a charging point situated in a mall and then connecting her phone to it. After connecting the phone to the charging point, she left her phone there to go shopping. Another phone has also been plugged into the mobile charging station. The video’s other part of the video will leave you stunned beyond words. The vlogger returned to the charging place after 2 hours, found her mobile intact to the point, unplugged it and walked out of the mall. It was surprising that in this time duration, no one stole her smartphone signifying the tightened security levels in Dubai. Another astonishing thing was that no security official was standing beside the mobile charging point. Despite that, no one has reached the charging point for stealing the phones. The clip’s text overlay reads, “POV: You are living in the UAE”. Tetiana captioned the clip,” The safest country in the world. #uae #dubai”. This clip has garnered more than 5 million views and counting. The song Pop Perfection by the artist Thales Costa plays in the background.

Social media users were surprised to see this security in the UAE (United Arab Emirates). One of the users commented, “In India, both phone and charger box will be gone.” Other users also cautioned the blogger to not try this in India. Another user commented that people would have stolen the whole charging stand in Pakistan. Users also commented that countries like the UAE have strict laws that ensure that theft doesn’t take place.

Theft is considered a criminal offence in the UAE and is punishable under the UAE Penal Code. The punishments for theft vary depending on the value of the stolen property. For instance, if the value of the stolen property exceeds AED 3,000 (Rs 68,537), the punishment can be imprisonment for a term of up to seven years. Individuals thus stay away from such malpractices and avoid the legal consequences linked to these acts.
