Watch: Young Fan's 'Dream Come True' Moment As MS Dhoni Signs His Cap

To understand the stature of MS Dhoni, you do not necessarily have to attend a match of Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League (IPL). The Indian cricket legend has his name registered in golden letters in history books and the fans go crazy once he sets foot on the pitch. As fans predict it to be the last campaign of “Thala”, they are ready to do anything and everything to watch him in action.

The scenario is quite the same outside the ground. People have been seen gathering in numbers outside the team hotel, seeking an opportunity to meet and greet the former CSK captain. One such young fan saw his dream come true when Dhoni came forward to give him an autograph. A video featuring the beautiful moment was later dropped on Instagram and went viral in no time.

The clip opens with MS Dhoni, in his CSK training kit, walking along the hotel lobby with a few support staff and security personnel. On his way, the World Cup-winning captain encountered a kid donning the Team India jersey. The little fan had a cap in his hands and wanted to get it signed by his idol. He was able to catch the attention of Dhoni, who stopped there to fulfil the wish of the boy.

In a heartwarming gesture, MS Dhoni took the cap and went on to give his autograph on it. The kid might haven’t expected it. His face lit up with immense joy when the legendary cricketer returned his cap before making his way out of the hotel.

The boy, recognised as Prince Soni, looks to have become an avid follower of cricket at a tender age. He has already managed to click pictures with many Indian cricketers including Shubman Gill, Ajinkya Rahane and Ishan Kishan. After meeting MS Dhoni, Prince put a photograph featuring the signed cap on his Instagram profile picture.

Earlier, on May 10, when Chennai Super Kings were engaged in a nervy clash against Gujarat Titans, a fan invaded the pitch in Ahmedabad to meet MS Dhoni. The legendary wicketkeeper-batter was at the crease when the person came running into the ground. Dhoni playfully tried to run away but later stopped as the fan bowed down to touch his feet.

As far as CSK’s form in this IPL is concerned, the reigning champions are currently third in the league standings with 14 points. They must win the remaining game against Royal Challengers Bengaluru to confirm their berth in the playoffs. The important match is slated to take place in Bengaluru on May 18.
