In Jamui, Bihar, a gill named Komal Kumari fell in love with a woman 7 years ago (2017) after she mistakingly called the wrong number. According to Local 18 Bihar, Komal is the daughter of Bhagirath Singh, a resident of Lakhapur village of Jamui Sadar police station area. Soni Kumari is the daughter of Jagannath Pandey, a resident of Babhangama in Chapra district.
Both Komal and Soni initiated conversation with each other, and it gradually blossomed into love. After knowing each other for 7 years, they decided to tie the knot and got married secretly in 2023 without informing their family. However, when both of them were about to elope from their home, their families got to know about it. They didn’t accept this relationship, intervened and debarred both women from meeting each other.
Komal Kumari was married to a man in a village in Lakhisarai district 4 years ago and she has a son and a daughter. Meanwhile, Soni Kumari was married to a man from Patna in 2020. Both Komal and Soni knew about each other marital status but still started an affair. They then made a plan to escape from their houses. They left their families, including their children and wanted to begin their life afresh. Soni was in Chapra and Komal called her to come to Jamui. Both were about to escape but their relatives caught them and even informed the police about this matter.
The police reached the spot and brought both women to the police station. They are interrogating Komal and Soni. Both women said that they wanted to spend their lives with each other. They have not divorced their spouses yet. Both ladies were visibly distressed by the sudden turn of events.
According to India Today, a similar incident happened in Bihar’s Gopalganj district. Here, 2 women, an aunt and a niece married each other after being together for three years. The video of the couple, recorded at a temple in Belwa village shows the couple exchanging garlands and performing traditional Hindu rituals. The aunt tied a mangal sutra around her niece’s neck, and they took saat phere around the sacred fire.
